Description
A bad crimp is invisible. It shows up two years later as a connector that heats, a string that underproduces, sometimes the start of a fire. The only way to avoid it is a ratcheting tool whose stroke cannot be interrupted before full compression.
These pliers carry three sets of hexagonal dies matching 2.5, 4 and 6 mm² MC4 contacts, that is 14, 12 and 10 AWG. The ratchet refuses to open until rated pressure is reached, making every crimp identical to the last.
Dual-material handles and a return spring reduce fatigue when you have forty contacts to crimp in a row on a roof. It is a tool you buy once and keep twenty years.
