Tripp Lite 3000 W PV3000HF Inverter

The Tripp Lite PV3000HF delivers 3000 watts continuous and takes 6000 watts of surge, from a 12 volt DC input to four 120 volt AC outlets. A wired remote control and its cable are included.

This is a serious backup inverter for a cabin or off-grid building: enough to run a well pump, a fridge, lighting and household electronics at once. The 6000 W surge is there for motor inrush, which always far exceeds steady-state draw.

The thing to prepare before installing is the DC wiring. At full power on 12 volts this unit draws more than 250 amps. That calls for very heavy, very short battery cable, lugs torqued to spec, and a DC fuse or breaker rated just above. The remote saves a trip to the equipment room to shut the inverter down — mount it where you live.
