Description
The Tripp-Lite PV150 is a pocket inverter: 150 watts continuous, 300 peak, a single 120 V AC 60 Hz outlet fed from a 12 volt DC input accepted from 10 to 15 volts.
It plugs straight into a 12 V socket and runs whatever fits its size: a laptop charger, a small television, a cordless-tool charger, a travel medical device. Beyond that it shuts down rather than dragging the battery down.
The extruded aluminium housing is not decorative: it is the heatsink, and it makes all the difference on a unit this size with no fan. The 10 to 15 V input range makes it tolerant of a tiring battery, but still watch the state of charge — 150 W from a 12 V bank is more than 13 amps continuous.
