Description
A DC breaker is nothing like a household breaker. On AC, current crosses zero a hundred and twenty times a second and the arc extinguishes naturally; on DC nothing interrupts the arc, which can persist and melt the contacts.
This two-pole breaker uses magnetic blowout chambers that stretch and cool the arc until it extinguishes. It is rated for 1000 V DC and 63 A, covering the strings of nearly every residential and light commercial installation.
It serves both as overcurrent protection and as a service disconnect: cutting a string's supply before working on a controller or inverter is an elementary safety step, and this breaker is designed to handle it daily.
