Description
A series 63 DC breaker rated 50 amps across two poles up to 550 volts DC, certified CB, CE, TUV, RoHS to IEC/EN 60947-2.
The two-pole version breaks positive and negative together. On a floating photovoltaic string, where neither conductor is bonded to earth, that is the only way to truly isolate the circuit: breaking one pole leaves the other live with respect to earth, and that is where the surprises happen during service.
550 volts gives the headroom a series string needs. One thing never to do: use an AC breaker in this position. A DC arc does not extinguish at the zero crossing, and only a DC device’s arc chutes blow it out. Respect the polarity marked on the housing too.
