Description
A two-pole series 63 DC breaker, 40 amps up to 550 volts DC, certified CB, CE, TUV, RoHS to IEC/EN 60947-2.
40 A two-pole is the most common rating at the head of a photovoltaic string: it comfortably covers the short-circuit current of two to four residential modules in parallel, while breaking positive and negative together to fully isolate the string.
The 550 volt headroom absorbs the voltage rise in deep cold, when a series array’s Voc climbs well above its 25 °C figure. An under-rated breaker fails in January, not in July. And remember an AC breaker has no business here.
