Description
The Canadian Solar HiKu6 has become the benchmark for residential installations in Quebec, and for good reason. Its half-cut monocrystalline cells reduce resistive losses and keep producing when part of the module is shaded by a chimney or a branch. At 20.5 % efficiency, you get the most out of every square foot of available roof.
The structure is built for our climate: 35 mm anodized aluminium frame rated for 5400 Pa snow load and 2400 Pa wind load, 3.2 mm tempered anti-reflective glass, and an IP68 junction box. The -0.34 %/°C temperature coefficient also means the module performs better at -15 °C than in extreme heat, a real advantage at our latitude.
Canadian Solar backs it with a 12-year product warranty and a 25-year linear performance warranty down to 84.8 % of rated output. At Sol-Air Tech we use it daily in our off-grid cabin builds, where reliability matters more than anything else.

The power of intelligent energy management
Half-cut cells
Splitting each cell in two halves the current flowing through the ribbons and limits heat losses. Partial shading of one row no longer shuts down the whole panel.
Built for snow
The 35 mm frame and 3.2 mm tempered glass are certified to 5400 Pa, roughly 550 kg/m² of accumulated snow. No need to climb on the roof after every storm.
Excellent temperature coefficient
At -0.34 %/°C, the HiKu6 gains voltage as the mercury drops. Cold, sunny February days are often the most productive of the year.
IP68 junction box
Three bypass diodes sealed in an IP68 enclosure, with 1200 mm leads and factory-fitted MC4-compatible connectors.

Deux hivers, aucune surprise
Douze modules installés sur le toit du garage à l'automne 2024. Après deux hivers, aucune perte de production mesurable et la neige glisse d'elle-même dès que le soleil frappe. Le cadre a très bien tenu la bordée de février.
