Description
PV cable is not ordinary building wire. Its cross-linked double insulation resists UV, ozone, permanent moisture and temperatures from -40 to +90 °C, conditions that crack standard building cable in two or three summers.
This RPVU90-certified 10 AWG is the standard gauge for most residential strings: it carries 30 A and keeps voltage drop under 2 % over about thirty metres at rated current. Its finely stranded tinned copper stays flexible even in deep cold, which eases pulling in January.
We cut it to the exact length you order, with no surplus billed. If you are unsure of the length, allow 15 % margin for service loops and joist detours; it is always cheaper than having to splice in the middle of a field.

UV-resistant cross-linked insulation
The cable stays sun-exposed on a roof for twenty-five years. XLPE insulation does not crack, unlike the PVC of building wire.
Flexible at -40 °C
Fine stranding keeps the cable workable when temperatures drop. A stiff cable cracks at the first bend in deep cold.
Tinned copper
Tinning protects the copper from oxidation inside MC4 crimps, the classic failure point of installations exposed to moisture.
